ND Academic Scholarship

Any resident student who graduates from a high school during or after the 2010-11 school year and any resident student who completes a program of home education supervised in accordance with chapter 15.1-23 during or after the 2012-13 school year is eligible to receive a North Dakota academic scholarship provided the student meets the following requirements:

  • Any other social studies, which may include civics, civilization, 1 unit or geography and history, multicultural studies, ND studies, psychology, sociology, and world history.

  • 1 unit or 2 half-units
Foreign/Native American Language, Fine Arts, or Career and Technical Education

 

AND

Student must also have:

  1. Obtained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, as determined by the superintendent of public instruction, based on all high school units in which the student was enrolled
    AND
  2. Obtained a grade of at least "C" in each unit or one-half unit

OR

  1. Obtained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, as determined by the superintendent of public instruction, based only on the units required for the academic scholarship and
  2. Obtained a grade of at least "C" in each unit or one-half unit
  3. Received a composite score of at least twenty-four on an ACT
    AND
    1. Fulfilled any one unit requirement set forth in subsections 1 through 7 by means of an advanced placement course and examination
      OR
    2. Fulfilled any one unit requirement in the areas of English, Math, Science, Social Studies or Foreign Language/Native American Language/Sign Language by completion, through an early entrance program, of a non-remedial postsecondary course offered for credit at an accredited institution of higher education which has a physical presence in this state
      OR
    3. Fulfilled any one-half unit requirement of the academic scholarship by means of a dual-credit course.
