This fall, NDCDE will continue to partner with Bismarck State College (BSC) to offer free dual-credit cybersecurity courses. In addition to CIS 147: Principles of Information Security, which we offered this summer, we are adding CIS 255: Computer and Network Security. Note that CIS 147 is a prerequisite for CIS 255.

A grant covering registration, tuition, fees, and textbooks will be available to a total of 60 students who may register for either course. This grant is available on a first-come, first-served basis by beginning the registration process here: https://www.cde.nd.gov/information/programs/dual-credit/bismarck-state-college.

Both courses will be taught online by NDCDE teacher Shannay Witte and offered in NDCDE’s self-paced, asynchronous format. These courses partially fulfill new high school cybersecurity and computer science graduation requirements. CIS 147 qualifies as North Dakota University System general education requirements, and both courses are part of the course requirements for BSC's Security and Hacking Certificate.
